On April 25, PlantResponse participated in the III Forum of Agrobiotechnology organized by the Spanish Bioindustry Association (ASEBIO). The conference gathered more than 100 entities from throughout Spain, including key players from the ag-biotech sector in Spain and Europe.
The conference was introduced by Mr. Fernando Miranda, Secretary General of Agriculture and Food of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. He reaffirmed Spain’s commitment to regulating and evaluating innovation based on science.
During the morning conferences, Paz Pérez, Director of Regulatory Affairs at PlantResponse, presented in the panel “Public Policies and Regulatory Affairs.” Paz explained the current regulatory framework for new technologies in agriculture, with special focus on plant biostimulants and the challenges the industry faces to register these products and bring them to the market in the EU.
In the afternoon session, our EMEA Director Francisco Javier García Domínguez participated in the panel “Crop Yield and Pest Control Management.” He revealed the market drivers and the strategies that PlantResponse uses to bring sustainable, innovative solutions to farmers and complement their traditional tools.
This multi-sectoral meeting brought to the fore the main challenges facing society in general and the agri-food industry in particular in the coming years, and the opportunities that these challenges represent for the biotechnology sector.
